ANA MARIA MONDOLO holds the Chair of the History of Music in Argentina in the Department of Arts Music and Sound (IUNA, 1989-present); is a researcher at the National Academy of Fine Arts, and a member of the Academic Committee for the Masters degree in Music Creation, New Technologies and Traditional Arts at the Universidad Nacional Tres de Febrero (2006). In addition, she lectures on Argentine Art Music in the Master of Pedagogy program at the University CAECE (2005-present). She holds a degree in music education and piano (1982); a graduate degree in musicology (1989); advanced degrees in both musicology and piano performance (2003); and a Licenciada en Artes Musicales, Especialidad Piano (2005). Between 1987 and 1990 she worked at the National Archives of Music (National Ministry of Culture), and at the National Institute of Musicology. In 2007 she earned a Masters degree in new technologies applied to education. She has been a member of the Research Institute of Musicology "Carlos Vega" (UCA) since 1988 and in charge of its Archive of Argentine Art Music since 1989.
Her research initially focused on Argentine art music. She has contributed extensively to the Diccionario de la Música Española e Hispanomericana (Madrid 2000-2002), to numerous collective volumes—including Historia General del Arte en la Argentina (Buenos Aires, 2003), and Ginastera: 20 años después (Buenos Aires, 2003)—as well as to several congress reports. Her articles have appeared in numerous journals including Temas y Contracantos, Todo es Historia, Revista del Instituto de Investigación Musicológica Carlos Vega, Revista Digital and Clásica . She is also a regular participant in national and international conferences.
